The Power of Self-Compassion to Boost Your Success

The Power of Self-Compassion to Boost Your Success

Many of us have the misconception that, in order to be successful, we have to sacrifice our happiness. I wrote my upcoming book, The Happiness Track because research shows this idea is not only wrong, but counterproductive. In The Happiness Track, I reviewed 100s of studies to show you how and why taking care of yourself, your happiness and your well-being are the most important thing you can be to achieve lasting success, not to mention fulfillment. Here’s a sneak peak. Many people believe self-criticism is important for self-improvement. However, research shows that self-compassion is far superior, read on below:

Dear Dr. Emma,

At the outset, I am very glad to write this message to a person who is upholding the significance of compassion which is very fast depleting at global level.

I am working for Amrita University, Mysore campus and currently in charge of the corporate relations and training & placements. I am very closely in touch with students in the age group of around 20 years and with AMMA’s grace I find myself extending effective personal counselling. I very much believe the core factor behind success in counselling is the compassionate approach towards the students.

I am an ardent devotee of Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi who is the personification of compassion. Since 2005 I have been actively involved in counselling the youth and I am desirous of undergoing the one week program on compassion that is being offered by you. I kindly request you to consider the possibility of offering the above program online through “Coursera”.

I am a graduate chemical engineer and currently I am pursuing MSc Applied Psychology in the correspondence mode.from a leading Indian University.
I have received very touching feedback from my students and would very much wish to share the same with you. Upon having your concurrence, I shall share these stories of transformation with you.

Best wishes and regards,
Satish Kumar.V
